The City of Saskatoon has a new initiative called #WinterCityYXE that's aiming to make winter something to celebrate rather than lament. This is our opportunity to put forth ideas on how Saskatoon can encourage more of the community to get out and enjoy what our city has to offer during literally half the year, so it's an important assignment. Whether it's a new festival idea, easier access to cross-country skis and snowshoes, programming at the Meewasin, or whatever your imagination tells you will get both Saskatonians and tourists engaged in Saskatoon, this is your moment to shine (and yes, that's a Saskatoon Shines reference).
So far, all of my ideas are hot chocolate based: a hot chocolatery (that's a thing, right?) at River Landing, a hot chocolate food truck, a hot chocolate competition, just more hot chocolate in general. Obviously that's me with hot chocolate above.
Here's a video that will explain the #WinterCityYXE process a little further, and maybe get your mind off hot chocolate:
What do you love to do in winter? And how could Saskatoon turn that into something our whole city can enjoy? Share your ideas in this survey the City has set up and have your say.
