Don't forget to check out the 2nd Ave Sidewalk Sale!  Thursday, Friday & Saturday! Lots of deal and lots of people to see!

The 2nd Ave sidewalk sale is a staple of Saskatoon's festive summer season and one of the busiest retail weekends of the year. The sale draws in thousands into our vibrant downtown and provides the backdrop for three says of fun in the heart of the city.

If you need shoes... and you like them on sale... this is your place. My little guy and I walked around for a few hours today checking out the deals and totally enjoyed the ambiance and all the amazing food trucks. If you're looking for something to do this Friday night everything is open till 9:00 pm and open Friday & Saturday  9:30-5:30!

Make sure you check it out!

I recently caught up with Two Fifty Two Boutique and was lucky enough to photograph their latest styles for an upcoming article in Refined Magazine.  Since then they were awarded two SABEX Awards~ Best in Customer Service and New Business Venture. I always love a good local business success story and Two Fifty Two defines just that. Local Success.

Meet Phoenix Laurén

Ever since we started Our Collective Muse, I have wanted to do a blog post on my friend Kaitlin, better known as Phoenix Laurén.  Quite simply, she is one of the coolest people I know.  She is a singer, songwriter, fashionista, artist, and the best part, she is from Saskatoon!  She recently moved out to Vancouver to pursue her dreams. We caught up for a visit while I was in Van this summer, and Kaitlin showed me around the city.  Keep reading to get to know Phoenix.

Dress For Success - Ensemble

When Our Collective Muse was asked to be part of decorating the Dress For Success Ensemble Fashion Show, creating an entrance display with a flight theme for Thursday night's event at Kreos Aviation, we jumped at the chance. Ensemble was an evening filled with amazing designers, local shops and catered food by some of Saskatoon's top chefs, and the effort that went into this spectacular fundraiser was apparent everywhere you looked. From the top-notch production Saskatoon Fashion & Design Festival brought to the table, to the gorgeous models who were coached and coordinated by Masala Model & Talent, to the many businesses that contributed to the production including the title sponsor, Cameco, it was an honour for us OCM ladies to join the team. Together, we created a night filled with fashion, food and flair.

The mission of Dress for Success is to promote the independence of economically disadvantaged women by providing work-appropriate attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

Dress for Success has suited more than 775,000 women worldwide since our inception in 1997. Dress for Success has affiliate locations in more than 124 cities across the United States, Australia, Canada, Ireland, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, the United Kingdom and the West Indies.

Take a look at how much fun we had supporting such an amazing cause.

I love being mommy to a little girl. and one of my favourite perks of being mommy to a little fashionista, is dressing a little fashionista! I have an addiction to shopping... but not for myself... I think my little ones wardrobe gets a new item or two daily. How can you resist though?!!
