Get The Look | Your Dream Kitchen Makeover!
As the reality of winter is rolling in, by human nature we begin to “nest” as we prepare for the upcoming cooler seasons. We begin to think about the indoors and what that space feels like to be in. We start to plan for the various ways that we can make everyday life a bit more enjoyable, comfortable, user friendly, and ultimately more convenient. As the kitchen is one place where we spend most of our time during the cooler months of the year, it jumps to the highest on the priority list. Here we love to cook up a storm, entertain our friends, spend quality time with our families, and most of all, eat our delicious food!
Regarding design and functionality, the kitchen has come a really long way. As we become generally more spoiled in life by technology and the instant gratification it brings, we begin to hope for nothing less from the spaces around us. When it comes to the kitchen and the many purposes it functions for, it again sits top of the list for having a well functioning space.
Many kitchens today are focusing on these conveniences through innovative interior components that really contribute to the function and ease of use. From cabinets that close with ease, or lighting that dims with the touch of a finger, to backsplashes that house tv’s or open up into storage, to storage solutions that provide a special place for every item, we really can experience both excitement and convenience in our everyday kitchens. So yes, your dream kitchen should be all set up with the fun stuff inside the cabinets, but now lets talk about the outside. Let’s discuss what’s popular, timeless, and how to get that look.
Popular- Naturals, classics, or contemporary!
Naturals- This has to be one of my favourites!
How to get the look…
Here we are showing a natural stone Alyse Edwards tile in an elongated hexagon, Cambria quartz countertop- Ella, and TanAvondaire composed veneer cabinetry from Neff, all balanced with an antique nickel handle from Top Knobs.
Classic’s- When it comes to your kitchen it is hard to wrong with a classic look.
How to get a classic look-
Here we are using a water jet cut marble tile from Satillo, and matching with a basic white painted mdf door from Neff that gives the illusion of face frame cabinetry. The countertop is Cambria’s Weybourne Quartz, and shapely Top Knob’s handles in a chrome finish.
Contemporary- This look is always popular as it is simple and on trend.
Here’s how to get this look…
This time we are showing a black granite called Agata, which is paired with Neff's ash veneer in a black stain. This pop’s against the main backsplash tile, a stamped matt ceramic from Saltillo, and the accent tile is a glazed ceramic mosaic from Porcelanosa. For this scheme we have chosen very clean lines so no handles are visible, but instead a channel and touch latch system would be utilized.
There are so many great looks when it comes to cabinetry so stop on in to Metric and see what can be dreamt up for your new kitchen!
