Salute to Vienna New Year's Concert

As an arts publicist in Saskatoon, I have the pleasure of working with some incredible artists, industry people, and spectacular events. This is one performance I want to share with all of you because there are so many beautiful elements in the show: operetta, ballet, ballroom dance, and symphony music. It's called "Salute to Vienna New Year's Concert" and it will be Saturday Dec 30th 7:30pm at TCU Place.

The company describes it like this, "Be enchanted by the spirited romance of operetta, the glamour of ballroom dance, and the delicate beauty of ballet. Inspired by Vienna’s beloved New Year’s Concert, this frothy celebration blends acclaimed European singers and dancers with a full orchestra for a rich cultural experience that will leave your toes tapping. Fall in love with a musical program that weaves highlights from Merry Widow, Die Fledermaus, and Gypsy Princess with energetic overtures, Strauss waltzes including the Blue Danube, and polkas from Vienna’s golden age. Salute to Vienna New Year’s Concert delivers a new show every year with a fresh cast and programme when more than 50,000 concert-goers in 25 North American cities discover the timeless pleasure of Vienna’s most beautiful music."

In Saskatoon, on Saturday, December 30, join Viennese conductor Christoph Campestrini and
The Strauss Symphony of Canada, featuring Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra, who will
perform with Viennese soprano, Patricia Nessy, tenor Adam Fisher, members of the
Europaballett St.Pölten (Austria), and International Champion Ballroom Dancers.

Salute to Vienna adds a fun, festive and dash of traditional European culture to the end of the holiday season. It is a smashing, authentic re-creation of the 80+ year-old Viennese Neujahrskonzert—a concert presented by the Vienna Philharmonic every New Year’s Day. The Neujahrskonzert is beloved for its lively music and time-honoured traditions and is broadcast live around the world to more than 50 million people in more than 90 countries every year.
