How to Toddler-Size a Headband in 5 Seconds
If, like my daughter Petra, your little girl is still waiting patiently for her hair to grow, headbands are probably your accessory of choice. For Petra, a headband completes an outfit-- she even takes it upon herself to pick one (or three) to wear when she's getting dressed. And although our local faves Rain Melody and ForEverly Yours have a stronghold on her collection, sometimes we want a cheapie trend piece. The only issue? There aren't a ton of toddler options out there. So, I came up with a solution. It's so simple, you'll wonder why you didn't think of it first!
First step, find a rabbit ear headband at an accessories shop. I found this one (and the one in the title photo) at Ardene.
Separate the rabbit ear tie by undoing it.
Loop the rabbit ear around the band.
Then (and this is the whole trick), loop the band around one side of the rabbit ear.
This extra loop causes the band to be smaller.
So when you re-tie the rabbit ear, you've got yourself a toddler-sized headband.
Ta-da! And if you'd like to keep up with Petra's style on the daily, follow along at @petrascloset.
