Hi.

Welcome to our blog. We're twelve girls documenting our adventures in #yxe. Hope you have a nice stay!

Baby it's cold outside...

Brrrrr.

Sadly, fall 2016 in Saskatchewan happened to be (very) short lived... but that doesn't mean that fall trends die hard along with those autumn leaves! Carry on with those those cozy hues, berry lips, and over sized sweaters my friends!

While temps were still warm a month or so ago, I was working on a fall trends editorial with Edge Agency international model, Melissa Zabinksi! Melissa had just arrived home from overseas modelling in Asia, and we were so anxious to work together. This shoot was the very first collaboration to happen in our beautiful new downtown studio. Our new studio is blessed with gorgeous natural light which I utilized all shoot, in turn giving edgier makeup looks a soft touch with creamy window light. We wanted this shoot to feel cozy & warm, with allllll the fall vibes.

Along side us, our amazing team was Holly Decker Makeup Artistry, fellow OCM blogger! Rachel Stange of Factory Beauty Parlour on the hair. And Jeanie DeBeer, creative genius behind CBF Branding and Advertising was our wardrobe stylist, who styled this shoots looks with clothing from Tonic!

When it comes to fall makeup trends, don't be afraid to play with colour! Berry tones on the eyes and/or lips. Smokey eyes in jewel tones, golden hues, and glossy textures.

Holly Decker recommends prepping your skin for the drier & harsher climates with a few of her favourite products for beauty TLC!

One being - and I personally recommend these to EVERYONE they are life changing - MASKERAID SHEET MASKS. These sheet masks are perfect for the winters, providing you with the ultimate hydration for your complexion! ...Bonus, you look super chic while wearing one ;).

After your mask, Holly recommends applying POETIC BLENDS Facial Oils to hydrate your skin before makeup. These luxurious oils leave your skin feeling dry to the touch, but still extremely hydrated!

Before our photo shoot started, Melissa's body was prepped with RED CARPET KOLOUR, which can be applied with a Body Blender (a large makeup sponge for the body), to create that J-Lo Glow!

Red Carpet Kolour is a photo shoot essential in my books! This golden glow body lotion gives you the appearance of perfectly airbrushed gams, and an overall instant self tan. Also, it dries quickly and wont transfer on to your clothing! Perfect for holiday party's or a date night out on the town!

(These products and more can be purchased from Holly in our downtown studio! Find Holly Decker Makeup Artistry on Facebook!)

ON TREND: Beautiful Berry Lips.

For Melissa's first look, Holly created a smouldering smokey eye with a heavy application of "Haute & Naughty" mascara in black by MAC. On the lids she used MAC Eye Gloss. Lightly filled in Melissa's brows for a natural look and used a clear brow gel to keep them in place. On the lips, Trust Fund Beauty in colour "Lie to Me"

For a less dramatic look, opt for a nude lip to accompany your smokey eye. On Melissa, Holly used one of her favourite nudes, "Creme d'nude" by MAC.

All Melissa's beautiful wardrobe was provided by TONIC. This 2nd Ave boutique carries all the seasons on point trends, must have accessories, gorgeous coats, hats, and party dresses! We paired lingerie inspired looks with over sized wool poncho wraps, faux fur, and creamy trench coats. As well as created an edgy meets girly look, mixing a tight black turtle neck with a white tulle skirt.

Rachel worked Melissa's hair into voluminous waves, adding soft texture as the shoot went on. Rachel is the master of beachy texturized hair, which was absolutely perfect on Melissa's platinum locks!

We hope you found some fall style, makeup, and hair inspo!

Stay warm, xo

- Erin
