My favourite beauty products of 2014

Being a makeup artist I have amassed quite the collection of beauty products.  With so many emerging and amazing beauty brands I don't see an end in sight to a somewhat serious addiction but hey I have an excuse right?  It's my job! ;) With a boggling array of choices on the market I thought I would share a few of my 2014 favourites that I use personally and that are current staples in my kit.

Mac Extended Play Mascara.  I love this Mascara for my personal use.  The brush is small enough to catch and separate every lash and so perfect for the bottom lashes.  If you're looking for huge volume this may not be the mascara for you.  It does not smudge and lasts all day.  Another huge bonus is that it isn't waterproof so it removes easily.

Mac lipstick.  I have carried Mac lipsticks in my kit since the beginning.  They have a dizzying array of colours and finishes. If I HAD to pick only two colours today I would pick Honey Love and Diva.  Honey Love is a pink nude that won't leave you looking washed out.  Diva is a burgundy that suits every skin tone.

Chanel Soleil De Tan Bronze Universel.  I love this bronzer because it's a cream and is big enough for a big fat bronzer brush.  Get your tan on easily with this winner.

Concealor is a girl best friend.  I love Macs Pro Long Wear for it's natural and long lasting finish.  One negative to this product is the packaging.  Believe me I have written the company..but I guess I will continue to repurchase because it is kind of awesome.

Face Atelier Ultra foundation has a major celebrity following for a reason.  This is a silicone based foundation that blurs imperfections and leaves a luminous glow to the skin.  This suits normal/combination to dry skin types best. If you are oily you will have to set with a powder. It is also water resistant, bonus! It is available in my studio by appointment only or online.

Get your glow on with The Balm's Mary-Lou Manizer.  Available at London Drugs.  Go get it.

I have only about a zillion eyeshadow palettes but if I had to pick only one palette I would pick this pricey but totally worth it Tom Ford Coco Mirage palette.  It may look a little dull being brown colours but you can create almost any wearable look with these four simple shades.  Brown is my favourite eyeshadow colour for real.

My top beauty tool for 2014 is The Beauty Blender. This applies your foundation flawlessly EVERY time. If you don't have it go it now.  It is available in my studio and also at Sephora.

Happy shopping!
