I'm a lover of pie… but sometimes its nice to step out of the box and make an untraditional pie….yet still have all that good pie taste!

Introducing a little thing I made up. ….Or maybe there is a recipe out there and someone actually trademarked this… but really, Im going with the fact that I decided one night that wrapping an apple up in pastry would be a brilliant idea. I took a little bit of a twist and added a mixture to the middle…. so follow along and perhaps you'll be inspired to make your own little untraditional pie. ;-)
Peal your apples.
Use one of those apple cutters to cut your apples into a perfect shape.
Take brown sugar, rolled oats (sorry I never measure), and butter. Mix that up till you can form a few balls.
Roll your ball of oats into a shape that you can hold the apples around.
Sprinkle with cinnamon!
Then wrap your apple up in pastry. (I used the pastry recipe off the Crisco box, which you can make ahead of time)
Make an egg wash to spread over the pastry and sprinkle with a bit of brown sugar. Bake at 350 for an hour. :-)
Viola!!! My creation of baked apple goodness. Serve with ice cream or heavy whipping cream.
You'll need a knife and fork for this one! Enjoy!
