Sunday Fun Day

Sunday Fun Day

It's Sunday fun day!  Time to get together with two of my favourite beauty creative minds and have some fun with makeup, hair, and photography!   Karyn Kimberely is one of my absolute favourites to shoot beauty with and Kassy Moen of Capelli Salon Studio is a hair genius. We just click.  You know the kind where they can just do them and I do me?  Yep they are the best.

Heather is our model for today's shoot.  In fact Heather has never modelled before, she's actually a wikedly talented cook at Saskatoon's Ayden restaurant.  She has some pretty cool red hair and beautiful porcelain skin so she's in.

These kind of creatives shoots usually start from with fairly simple look that we can build on.  The makeup change shown here involved a little painterly texture. Experimental really.  Sometimes the experiments work and sometimes they don't.  That's the fun of these creatives.  You never know where exactly they will lead..

I have so much makeup..I've been collecting for over ten years now.  Today's I'm using a palette by a french company called Viseart.  Why I didn't pick this up when I bought it a year ago I have no idea.  It has all the neutral shades a person needs.  I chose the warm browns in the palette to go with our monochromatic look today.

A few of the hair tools used today include some dry texture spray from Oribe.  Got to have it?  Capelli Salon Studio carries the whole line.  They are stunning beautiful products. Kassy twisted the hair up in these large U pins to give it some wild texture.

The result, big hair!  Yes please!

Here's Heather in one of our first looks.  A soft look, peachy and creamy.

It was a great day had with some very talented ladies.  Thank you to Karyn Kimberley Photography and Kassy Moen of Capelli Salon Studio for a day of laughs and for your time and incredible talent. And to first time model Heather for killing her first ever shoot!
