My favourite form of physical activity, if I had one, would definitely be Pilates. I was first introduced to the concept three years ago, when my friend and fellow blogmate Roxanne, drug me to a class at Lead Pilates. I didn't know what to expect going in, but I assumed it would be just like yoga... but, I was wrong! I was introduced to a whole new way of exercising.
Although Lead Pilates does offer traditional mat classes, they also offer a wide variety of accessory classes (my favourite)! We were recently invited to try out a few of their most popular classes. In the photo above, we were trying the reformer. This was a great strengthening exercise for legs and core.
Next, we got a chance to workout on the chairs. This was a unique exercise for me personally. I felt it was reaching muscles I typically miss in other workouts. It is much harder than it looks!
Then we (carefully) hopped on the Core Aligns. I liked how this exercise could be easily adjusted to your individual fitness level, as could the other pieces of equipment. The versatility of the Core Align was amazing.
Finally, we finished off with some TRX! This was a class favourite. Although many of you have probably tried one of these before, you likely haven't tried the unique pilates TRX workout. It was intense.
