Regardless of whether you are heading to work, packing for an impromptu road trip, spending time at the beach or in the comfort of your own backyard, there are likely "go to items" that show up in your bag or on your person.
From casual knits to timeless sunglasses, functionality and longevity are integral components to the criteria I've established for selecting my "fundamentals". As it relates to objects, the reference to "fundamentals", extends from shoes to furniture and includes all things in-between. Although impulsive tendencies periodically surface on occasion, I've come to recognize most selections made on impulse are those that expediently relocate to the spare closet. Experience, a series of ill-fated test-runs, and the periodic wrong turn (in life and fashion alike) have led me to conclude that when it comes to the essentials , quality prevails over quantity and monochrome is key.
