Hi.

Welcome to our blog. We're twelve girls documenting our adventures in #yxe. Hope you have a nice stay!

Homemade Salt Scrubs

LIS_3910.JPG

Ingredients: (You'll be able to find most ingredients at Dad's Nutrition Centre)

  • 1 cup oil. Use sweet almond, grapeseed or another light-textured massage oil. Don't use simple cooking oil from your pantry.
  • 1 cup sea salt.  You can experiment with different textures to see what feels best for your skin. Don't use simple iodized table salt -- it's too harsh.
  • 1 cup course Demerara sugar
  • 5-15 drops high quality essential oils. The essential oil you choose for your salt scrub depends on the result you want. Lavender is relaxing, lemongrass is refreshing, lemon is delicious and rosemary is stimulating. You can experiment and do your own blend.

  •

Preparation:

Put the salt & sugar in a small bowl.

Add the oil, mixing well with a spoon or wooden stick. The texture should be moist enough to hold together, but not overly oily. You can adjust the amount of oil to achieve that texture.

Gently tap in the drops of essential oil and combine well.  Pour your mixture into designated jars. I found mine at Dollarama and they worked perfect.... AND they made such a cute gift!

This recipe is simple and easy. Make it your own creation!  Experiment to find the texture and smell you like!

****I find using salt scrubs in the bathtub is the best idea for easy cleanup… and be careful to wipe your tub clean of the excess oil residue to avoid slipping afterwards.   ;-)

Happy exfoliating!
