I hope you all caught yesterday's part 1 where Kassy Moen of Capelli Salon Studio showed us how to do an easy and beautiful romantic Chignon. Welcome to part two, makeup! This super simple makeup would compliment any holiday look. And what's even better is that anybody can do it!
Here are the products I used to create this look. The descriptions are below.
Tip* When wearing a bold lip it's best keep the rest of the face fairly simple makeup wise. Otherwise known in the makeup world as "keeping your makeup in balance".
I began by prepping Kristen's skin with Naked face lotion and highlighted her brow bone with Billion Dollar Brows Duo Concealor And Highlighter Pencil . I then filled her brows with Billion Dollar Brows in the colour Blonde using a Mac angled eyeliner brush #266.
Tip * Using the highlighter pen with give the shadow something to stick to as well as giving a subtle highlight and lift to her brow bone.
I then applied Face Atelier Foundation with a damp Beauty Blender.
I then applied Mac Tempting eyeshadow all over her bottom lid using a Mac brush #239. Then with the same brush I swept Tempting on the lower lash line. I then took a clean Mac #224 and blended the edges for a super soft look.
Tip * Sweep the eyeshadow a little lower on the bottom lid for added drama.
I then lined her eyes on the top only with Mac Blacktrack eyeliner gel using a Mac #266. I winged it out slightly to give a lifted look. If you're not confident with winging it then just do a straight line across your lid.
Tip* If you have a small lid then keep your eyeliner thin. If you have a larger eyelid then you can afford to pull your eyeliner a little thicker. If you like a little more drama then softly line the bottom lash line with the black eyeliner keeping it close to the lash line.
Curl your lashes and apply the mascara of your choice to the top and bottom lashes.
Tip* If you have nice bottom lashes always add mascara. If they are sparse then you should avoid mascara as you do not want to draw attention to that fact!
Tip* For some added drama add some false lashes. If you're new to them try using a half lash. This is so much easier than applying a full strip!
I then used Mac Shroom eyeshadow with a Mac #219 brush and highlighted the inner corner of her eyes and a wee bit under her brow bone. I also used Mac Shroom eyeshadow to highlight the tops of her cheekbones(yes you can use an eyeshadow for that!). I then took Mac Plum Foolery blush and applied it above the hollows of her cheeks and below her cheek bone. You can do that with The Hakohodo brush #5521 or any tapered blush brush.
Tip * By using a smaller tapered blush brush it with allow you more control in your blush placement .
I then lined and filled in the entire lip with Mac Vino lipliner. Then I applied Mac Diva lipstick. Diva is a beautiful burgundy colour and a modern take on a traditional red lip. You don't need a brush for this. Just apply it straight from the bullet!
Tip* Exfoliate and moisturize your lips prior to applying dark lip colours. Dark colours have a way of picking up dry patches you didn't even know were there!
Voila! A super easy and sophisticated hair and makeup look for the holidays that you can totally do yourself!
