Maybe it reminds me of my childhood in the 70's and 80's, to flip through those flimsy pages, dog-earing each one with something that catches my eye, because it feels really good to do it. Do you remember when your mom ordered you four different bathing suits and you went down to the Sears depot to pick them up? When you got them home you tried them on and if you were lucky one was OK, or even awesome. I do - it was such a treat to get the call that our order was in. Of course we can still order almost anything online but I still enjoy picking up a free copy of the catalogue at my nearest Sears outlet and sitting down with a cup of licorice tea to shop away.
As a child I used to long for the above-ground swimming pool (which does not seem to be available anymore?!?). These days I’m mainly interested in shopping for inside my home. My style? I feel at-home with a combination of new, antique and family heirlooms around me...with a touch of 'Grandma-style' and a splash of kitsch. One of my secret shopping sources is Sears.
